So I got approximately 1 day and a few hours left before I leave for my Summer Academic Program (SAW) at Mills College. I still have to pack but I thought I'd take a break and update because I've been wanting to do that. I'm anxious but excited at the same time. If it wasn't for Facebook and meeting people who are going to be in SAW too, I think I'd be really nervous. For those who don't know, it's going to be from Jul 22 - Aug 17. I can drive back to San Jose anytime after class or events. I just have to be back in my residence hall before 12 AM Sunday through Thursday and 1:30 AM Friday and Saturday. Just FYI.
I digress...
For the most part, Summer has been pretty good. I've spent time with Addie and Bonnie the most of out everyone else, with occassional hang outs with Kristina and Stanley & dinners or hang outs with Cheryl, Eric, Minh-vu, Daniel, Tim, sometimes Zach and Ashi.
I've watched practically almost every movie that has been in theaters this summer. I really want to see Hairspray, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, The Simpsons Movie, and No Reservations.
I know this is kinda long ago, but I'm going to talk about my 4th of July, or what I remember about it.
Early in the morning, my uncle, aunt, cousin, mom and I drove to Hearst Castle. We went on Highway 1, which goes through the mountains and has a lot of curves, so what happened? Once we were almost out of the mountains, my cousin, my mom and I got car sick. Me, most of all. We stopped every 15 minutes after our first taste of being car sick. It was horrible. I was so glad to get out of that car once we arrived in San Simeon. You do not even know! We got there and went on our first tour. Then, we came back for lunch and went on our second tour. Afterwards, we visited William R. Hearst Beach and checked into our Inn. We rested a bit before going to dinner. My dinner was yummmylicious. I got BBQ ribs... I'm drooling just thinking about it. Then we went to Cambria Community Park, which is by the beach and waited for fireworks. It was soooo cold, like seriously. After waiting for about three hours, we saw fireworks, went back to the inn, and went to bed.
The next day, we had a mini road trip from San Simeon to Rosemead. We stopped in San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, and Santa Barbara before finally arriving in Rosemead, which is east of Los Angeles. When we arrived, the adults went and did their own thing, while my cousin and I hung out with our cousins there. We played Wii Sports and made plans for Friday.
On Friday, we went to Costco to stock up on hot dogs, soda and chicken bake for the movies. We watch Transformers, which I already saw on Tuesday, but decided to watch it again anyway because it was pretty awesome. Then we snuck into Live Free or Die Hard. About 30 minutes into the movie, three of my cousins left to go watch Ratatouille, while my cousin Trinnie and I stayed to watch Live Free or Die Hard. It was soooo good. I had sweaty palms like the whole time. Hahah. After that, we went to get boba and went back to the house. Jennifer and Tiffany arrived a few hours later. So we all talked, ate dinner, talked some more, played Wii Sports and talked some more before going to bed.
The next day, July 7th, we went bowling for Ky's birthday. It was fun. I was in the 80's and 90's range instead of my usual 60's and 70's. We ate pizza there and it was sooo damn good, like for serious. I was surprised. After we were done with our 2 and a half hour worth of games, we listened to music while waiting for our ride to come. Later that night, we went to my cousin Ali's wedding. (I have so many cousins, I know.) It was all the way up on top of a hill and I thought of Hearst Castle, although it was nothing like Hearst Castle, besides that it was on a hill. The restaurant was called The Castaway. I ate prime rib for dinner; it was sooo good! After dinner and an immense amount of desserts, all the girl cousins got on the dance floor and danced like no tomorrow. It was soo fun and they played such good music. There was this one little girl... omg.. she was hella krumping. I've never seen anyone krump like that... let alone, be a young girl. She was hella good though. I tried to record her, but my camera doesn't have night vision, so you can't see shit--you just hear music. The next day, Sunday 7/8/07, I went home and I don't remember what I did.
I took a lot of pictures but they're on Facebook, so check them out there. I've been too lazy to upload them on Photobucket.
